The Singaporean noise rock band, Subsonic Eye, shares a new single “Unearth” to wrap up their third full-length album, ‘Nature of Things’ – due January 15 on both cassette and vinyl.
Unearth, a noisy indie rock comprised of various signature and tempo alterations with surreal tone, portrays the quintet making sense of their place in a world that has failed them while also putting emphasis on psychological struggle, personal alienation and apathy.
Alongside the track, an animated music video, produced by American illustrator-animator Arius Ziaee, was also released the same day (November 27). The video uses hand-drawn print techniques and analogue textures displaying gentrification and environmental deterioration “which mirrors and interprets vocalist Nur Wahidah’s mindscapes through looping tapestries of unreal, fantastical colors.”
You can also stream the single on Spotify and Apple Music.
