NYC singer-songwriter, Charlotte Rose Benjamin releases Party City Solo EP, an acoustic addendum to her debut Party City EP, which also came out earlier this year via Neon Gold Records / Moshi Moshi.
Speaking about the EP, Charlotte Rose says: “I spent most of my time during the lockdown at my parents house on Martha’s Vineyard where I grew up. All I’ve wanted to do is watch movies I’ve already seen before and listen to songs I already know all the words to. It’s like comfort food. It’s been cool to revisit songs from the EP in the same way. I wrote these songs alone, and I’ve played them more on stage by myself than with a full band. In a lot of ways they sound more familiar to me this way. There’s an element of loneliness in everything I write, and I think that really comes through when the melodies are laid bare like this.”
